The hotel is a family-owned business, with a strong focus on maintaining a family-like atmosphere. Our family rooms consist of a double bed with two additional single beds. ‘Great night away!’

Lovely, comfortable and relaxing break. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids and we stayed for one night. We had a lovely stay. The staff were helpful and kind and the lovely barman gave me our cups of tea on the house! Room was very big and spacious and was spotlessly clean. Town centre is a 5-minute walk. We will defo return.

Exceeds expectations!

The hotel is a short walk from downtown Athlone in a quiet area, with lots of free parking. It sits within a nice landscaped area with large trees and lawns.
The Shamrock Lodge is rated at three stars, but if you’d told me four, I would have believed it. The rooms are large and well-appointed, with high thread-count sheets on comfortable beds. The bathrooms are way beyond what I would expect for a three star hotel – large and fully tiled, with a quality feel.
The illustrious guest list from the past reflects a proud history. The hotel today represents a good value and welcome find.
