I found the shamrock lodge to be a very nice hotel! We had a 3 course meal which was fantastic! Breakfast the next morning was beautiful as well! Staff were very friendly. One thing I didn't like about my stay was the bed. I had ordered a double bed but instead what I got was 2 single beds stuck together!! They weren't even stuck together properly and kept seperating during the night. The bed was also not made properly. Over all tho I enjoyed my stay

We enjoyed a very pleasant two night stay in The Hamrock Lodge Hotel. the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again,

We had a very nice, 1 night break. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Rooms were spacious and clean.

This Hotel is better than it's 3 star rating. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and quite.

We really enjoyed our stay at the shamrock lodge hotel! On arrival we had a drink in the bar, which was nice clean and spacious! Rooms were ideal for our group booking. Beautifully laid out, had a meal in restaurant which was top class as was the breakfast!! Thanks for a great nite!!

Had a fantastic stay at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel. The hotel was beautiful, the staff very very helpful and friendly. we attended a civil ceremony and it was just lovely, would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Athlone.

Yes stayed here for two nights and found it a great hotel, lovely friendly staff and close to the town, we had a great time music in the bar on the Saturday night,would highly recommend this hotel.

Staff very polite, apartment not equiped to have a drink or even tea as no sink to wash cup etc which was very disappointing. Over all very happy with the stay though.

My family (2+2) enjoyed a very pleasant stay in this hotel. We stayed as part of the Hallowe'en package which included a chicken dinner. The dining area was quite basic but met our needs. The hotel is located a short walk from the main town area and staff were very helpful in giving directions. The rooms themselves were very comfortable and we found reception very helpful when we had additional request.

Lots of room in the two bedroom apartments for a large family, kids loved having their own room with bathroom/tv etc. Clean and family friendly. Rooms warm and snug with storage heaters, but bedding felt a little damp upon arrival, so maybe better to stay there during summer months. Would definitely recommend it though, plus the bar food was very tasty and menu family friendly. Thanks for a very enjoyable stay ;-)

From the moment I entered until the time I drove away, I was made to feel that the staff would do everything to ensure I had the most enjoyable stay! It is a pity that I could only stay for the one night. It lived up to the excellent reviews, beautiful ultra modern hotel. The room was lovely, very clean, heated bathroom floor which were amazing steping out from under the waterfall shower and the most comfortable bed!! The pillows and quilt were like marshmallow !!

Myself and my partner stayed in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel with four other friends, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the pleasent staff, delicious food and spacious clean rooms we will definitely be staying again. If were on holidays we will be keeping an eye out for the sister hotels around ireland because if its anything like the Shamrock we will enjoy our stay. :)

Loved this hotel! Very nice, great price, quiet, and very friendly service. The room was beautiful. Only complaint was that the bath tub was slow to drain during shower. We stayed Sunday sept 23rd and the man who worked at the front desk that night was extremely helpful!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Sahmrock Lodge Hotel. The room was perfect & served my every need. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bar staff were very friendly & accomodating when we asked for food after breakfast hours. Full marks all round to the staff & for the facilities.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent and the food was also very good. Stayed for a wedding and it was a fantastic wedding as service, food, entertainment was excellent. Would return again, the only thing I would change is the bedrooms need to be painted or patched up.

stayed for a wedding and from our time of arrival to our departure the next day i found no faults with this hotel.The room was spacious and very modern and although there was a wedding and another function going on in the hotel none of these disturbed our sleep.Will definatley stay again.

An excellent hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms and surroundings, good food, and plenty of parking. Would definitely use again if staying in the area.

10 out of 10. We had a brilliant day and nite in the Shamrock. I will be telling every1 about the whole place and dat it is well worth a look. Athlone is a beautiful town.

My wife and I stayed in The Shamrock Lodge on the 4th and 5th of August . We found the room spacious and clean , and the hotel itself very nice . The public bar was nicely furnished and spotless . During our stay we had one evening meal in the restaurant and one lunch in the bar - both were lovely . There was live music both nights . All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and a big thank you must go to the entire staff . Wherever we were in the hotel , the bar , restaurant , reception and cleaners - every single one was helpful and friendly . Thank you to everybody at the Shamrock Lodge , Alan and Deirdre Burchell.

overall quite satisfied with visit - minor comments that bathroom was a little tired and that some of the surfaces in the room were a little dusty. However, overall, room was comfortable and spacious and breakfast was certainly up to the mark. Service was warm and friendly.

thank you for the very warm welcome and courtesy shown by all your staff, even though we only stayed one night we had an excellant meal served in the bar by 2 very helpful staff. we both look forward to returning to Athlone for a longer stay in the near fuure and we will definately stay with you.

We had our wedding in this hotel some time ago!! And it was absolutely fantastic!! The hotel owners and staff were so very VERY helpful they just could not do enough for us!! It was an absolutely pleasure to work with them and if I was to have another wedding I would no doubt pick the same hotel again!!!!! Rooms were just GREAT!! Food was very good!! And as I said the atmosphere was FANTASTIC!! Will definitely recommend "Shamrock Lodge" to everyone for any occasion!! And guarantee you will be well looked after!!!!!! Loved it!! great location only a short walk into the Castle side of the town no passing traffic, one of the quietest rooms we have stayed in (even with the wedding on Friday eve we heard very little) and the darkest with the curtains closed no light bleeding through the curtains, lovely friendly staff, good food we would certainly stay again Steve Sulsh

This is the second time that I have stayed in the Shamrock Lodge in the last 12 months. I travel very often in my job and must say that the Lodge is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It is quiet, clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend it to any potential traveller.

Had a really Lovely stay I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The best of both worlds - quiet location yet only 8 minute walk to the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Your right beside the castle and a cluster of great pubs, Sean bar & the Snug to name but a few. We had the 2 nights stay with Breakfast and dinner one night. Great value as the hotel is very clean and well decorated. Meals were lovely. Couldn't fault this stay and will definitely be back. People in Athlone are very friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere about the place to match the likes of Galway and kilkenny.

We were quite happy with the room, it was on the ground floor which suited us. One or two little things could be improved upon, such as better lighting in the bedroom. Have to say the staff were absolutely lovely, very helpful and smiling faces. Would stay again. PS Breakfast was just what the doctor ordered!

Westayed in one of the appartments that are attached to the hotel. It was spacious with two large double on suite bedrooms and a living room cum "kitchen". It had a microwave and fridge but the only ware was four cups and saucers so you couldn't really self cater. It was comfortable and great value for a family stay.
