Location

The Shamrock Lodge Hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Athlone town centre on the west side of the River Shannon, making it the ideal touring base for the town and the rest of the Midlands. Located in the heart of Ireland on the main motorway (N6) between Dublin and Galway. Athlone is easily reached from all corners of the country including Galway, Mayo, Limerick, Clare and Cork. Athlone Train station has routes across the country to Dublin, Galway, Sligo, Cork and Kerry.

Directions to the Shamrock Lodge Hotel

FROM CAVAN / BALLYMAHON ROAD

• Via Glaason and Ballykeeran.
• After Ballykeeran follow road straight to Ahtlone.
• After passing turn for Mullingar you will come to a roundabout go straight through(2nd exit) this first roundabout.
• You will then pass Department of Education on left continue straight to next roundabout,
• stay on inside lane(right lane) and take 3rd exit (Galway/Roscommon)
• After exiting round a bout take right turn at cross road onto Dual Carriageway(Galway/ Roscommon).
• Continue on Dual Carriageway and take 2nd exit sign posted Roscommon.
• At T junction take right turn. Continue to top of road and take left turn at Stella Marris nursing home.
• Follow this road under Railway Bridge to traffic lights. At lights take right turn.
• Continue on this road to small roundabout and take 3rd exit off.
• After exiting off this roundabout take immediate left. Continue straight on this road and you will then see the sign and gates for the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

DIRECTIONS TO HOTEL FROM DUBLIN/BIRR/CORK/KILDARE

• On entering Athlone do not follow signs for Town Centre instead stay on Dual Carriageway heading for Galway/Roscommon
• After crossing over river Shannon you need to take exit of dual carriage way for Roscommon
• At T junction take right turn. Continue to top of road and take left turn at Stella Marris nursing home.
• Follow this road under Railway Bridge to traffic lights. At lights take right turn.
• Continue on this road to small roundabout and take 3rd exit off (right turn).
• After exiting off this roundabout take immediate left. Continue straight on this road and you will then see the sign and gates for the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

DIRECTIONS TO THE HOTEL FROM GALWAY

• On entering Athlone you will stay on Dual Carriageway passing the first almost immediate exit on left(Tuam)
• Take 2nd exit of Dual Carriageway sign posted Roscommon
• After exiting Dual Carriageway continue to roundabout (Ganly’s Hardware) and take 3rd exit off.
• Continue straight to top of road and take left turn at Stella Marris nursing home.
• Follow this road under Railway Bridge to traffic lights. At lights take right turn.
• Continue on this road to small roundabout and take 3rd exit off .
• After exiting off this roundabout take immediate left. Continue straight on this road and you will then see the sign and gates for the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.
  

DIRECTIONS TO THE HOTEL FROM SLIGO/ROSCOMMON

• At round about on entering Athlone, Ganly’s hardware will be on your left go straight through roundabout(2nd exit).
• Continue straight to top of road and take left turn at Stella Marris nursing home.
• Follow this road under Railway Bridge to traffic lights. At lights take right turn.
• Continue on this road to small roundabout and take 3rd exit off .
• After exiting off this roundabout take immediate left. Continue straight on this road and you will then see the sign and gates for the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.
